It’s been said by many a psychologist that most people will do more to avoid pain than to seek pleasure. If that’s true, the anti-ager has so many reasons to avoid pain — both literally and figuratively.

We’ve all seen the opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to aging.

On one end are the helpless. People who have physically and/or mentally deteriorated to the point where they have little or no independence.

On the other end of the spectrum are the vibrant, bright-eyed, and physically active seniors. They have full mental capacity. They have the agility, strength, and flexibility of those decades younger.

Why the difference?

Each group is where they are as a result of all decisions they have made in their lives related to their health and longevity. The sum of these choices ultimately decides their fate.

To add a little incentive here is a list of ‘pains’ you need to avoid at any cost:

Nursing homes
Prescription medications
Adult diapers
Triple by-pass
Walkers, wheel chairs, and scooters
Power-assist chairs
Knee replacement
Home care
Chronic degenerative diseases
Oxygen tanks
Insulin injections
Hospitals
Urostomy bags
Blood sugar monitors
Mobility Assistance Devices

While there are no guarantees in life, you can take steps every day to significantly reduce the probability of avoiding all of the above.

It’s all about educating yourself, taking responsibility for your actions, and developing life-long habits that serve you to the end.
