The Anti-Aging List of Nevers

The saying goes that most things are good in moderation. In the anti-aging world, that just isn’t true. The following is a list of items that should NEVER be consumed or done. Ever. Avoid them like the plague.

Artificial Sweeteners: Splenda, Equal, NutriSweet, Sweet-N-Low, Twin Sugar, aspartame, cyclamate, sucralose… all these sugar substitutes are plain bad for you. Zero calories, maybe. But they are neurotoxic and have been found in many cases to contribute to, not counteract, obesity.

Breakfast Cereal: Kellogg’s, Post, General Mills, Quaker Oats. Manufacturers all of poison. Ingredients include high fructose corn syrup, high glycemic carbohydrates, and GMO by-products.

Soda/Soft Drinks: Perhaps the leading cause of the obesity epidemic affecting people all over the world today. More high fructose corn syrup and high glycemic carbs. Diet versions are even worse with the added neurotoxicity of artificial sweeteners (see above).

Tap Water: What could be wrong with water? Ever see what is added to your municipal water supply. Start with fluoride, an absolute poison. Chlorine, lead, arsenic, radon, aluminum, other heavy metals, and traces of pharmaceutical drugs… all can be present in that ‘clear’ glass of tap water filled from your kitchen tap.

Counting Calories: All calories are not created equal. I will never understand the obsession for people to know how many calories are in whatever they are eating. Fast food restaurants posting the number of calories for each of its menu items… don’t get it. Eat good food. Get to know your body. Counting calories is just plain silly.

White Bread: While most bread, including whole wheat, is really not that good for you… they have a higher glycemic index than table sugar… white bread is absolutely devoid of any nutritional value whatsoever.

Potato Chips: Nasty stuff, these. First, if they are even made of real potatoes (many are not), they will be high glycemic. The worst part of potato chips is the manufacturing process. They are baked at high temperatures in omega-6 oils that produce huge quantities of AGEs (Advanced Glycation End-Products) that wreak havoc in your body. The high salt content doesn’t do you much good either.

Silver Amalgam: It is beyond comprehension that in this day and age, dentists continue to expose unsuspecting patients to massive dosages of mercury vapours by installing silver amalgams (fillings) to treat cavities. If your dentist insists on silver amalgam, run.

Fast Food: McDonald’s, Burger King, KFC. Sadly it still bears mentioning… but this stuff is deadly. Try as they might to fool consumer into thinking their latest menu offering is ‘nutritious’, it ain’t gonna happen.

There’s a start. Acquire the habit to never do any of the above and the anti-ager in you will be forever grateful.
